Accuracy of Time-Varying Ankle Joint Impedance Estimation During Locomotion

Description

A consistent estimator is proposed for the identification of ankle joint impedance during locomotion. The accuracy and uncertainty of the estimation are evaluated in simulation. The results show that the ankle stiffness can be identified with high accuracy (ErrN=0.04±0.03), while the ankle damping with lower accuracy (ErrN=0.44±0.25). However, the error in the damping estimation does not have significant effects on the estimation of the torque around the joint
