Archival Research on Financial Instruments in Early Modern London

Activity: OtherResearch and Teaching at External Organisation

Description

I will conduct archival research on early modern financial instruments, focusing on bills of exchange, promissory notes, and related commercial practices. The research will analyse legal and commercial documentation in order to understand the development of financial law and the interaction between urban institutions and commercial actors in seventeenth- and eighteenth-century London. This research constitutes the first stage of the comparative archival work of the project.
