Description
The 3rd International Conference on Food Law and Policy, held in a hybrid format on November 20, 2024, at the Faculty of Law, Universitas Airlangga, Surabaya, Indonesia, focused on crucial developments in the field applicable to achieving SDG 2: Zero Hunger. This conference, attended by approximately 70 participants in addition to the speakers, is part of the VLIRUOS Short Initiatives Project, a collaborative academic endeavour between Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Belgium, and Universitas Airlangga, spanning from 2023 to 2025, focusing on “Empowering Women Farmers to Actualize Rights to Seed for Sustainable and Resilient Food Systems in East Java, Indonesia.” From the approximately 54 research abstracts submitted, the committee selected 30 outstanding projects for presentation. Around 26 distinguished speakers from Belgium, Australia, the Netherlands, Italy, Malaysia, and Indonesia shared their expertise on food law and policy and the achievement of SDG Zero Hunger.
