Description

Dag van de Wetenschap is the largest science outreach event in Flanders and Brussels, bringing research and innovation closer to the public through hands-on activities, demonstrations, and workshops.

For this event, I organised and hosted the educational activity “From Cell to Cancer: A Discovery Journey for Young Researchers.”
At this interactive stand, participants were introduced to the basic principles of cell biology and cancer in an accessible and playful way. Using large visual materials and simple interactive elements, they learned to distinguish healthy cells from abnormal ones and to understand what happens when cellular rules are no longer followed. The activity also included a simple hands-on therapy experiment to illustrate how treatments can influence cells and why medical interventions are needed.

The activity was specifically designed for children aged 6–8 years.
