Description
The pace of technological development and how personal data are processed affect us in the daily life. Participants involved in exit work do not constitute an exception, given that an open exchangeon the individual’s experiences is a precondition for successful intervention. Furthermore, in the context of EXIT Europe, a special emphasis has been put on the need to share such experiences amongst Consortium partners, with the aim of developing cross-border and inter-agency work settings. Against this background, we will firstly overview the reasons that led to the enactment of Regulation (EU) no. 2016/679 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data. Secondly, we will examine the fundamental concepts and principles underpinning this piece of law. Thirdly, we will leave the floor to exit practitioners, so as to understand the challenges they are facing in implementing the legal and ethical framework outlined in Deliverable 6.1. In any event, our ultimate aim is to understand and discuss why data protection is important in the context of exit work.
