Description

Abstract The popularity of click-and-collect online grocery service is steadily growing amongst consumers. However, the scanty research available on this subject leaves retailers ill-equipped to strategize accordingly. As a contribution to this research area we used a qualitative method to explore the nature of the spatio-temporal drivers of click-and-collect online grocery service. Our results show that the click-and-collect online grocery service provides consumers with the opportunity to ease time pressure and optimise time saving through temporal measures (such as activity scheduling) and spatial drivers (such as trip chaining).
