Description

We assessed whether uncontrolled slow freezing (USF) and vitrification could be used as an alternative to the more expensive and time-consuming controlled slow freezing (CSF) to cryopreserve testicular tissue. Although vitrification gave promising results in the mouse model, it could not protect human testicular tissue from cryoinjury. USF using 1.5 M DMSO and 0.1 M sucrose as cryoprotectants was found to be an efficient alternative to CSF.
