Description

EU Sustainable Energy Week 2020: Renovation wave: transformative actions towards carbon neutrality

The Renovation Wave is one of the key priorities of the EU’s Green Deal, in order to achieve a climate neutral Europe. Identifying and supporting transformative actions on renovation is a key EU and national priority, in order to meet our deep renovation targets for 2030. A public consultation on the Renovation Wave is currently open until 8 June: https://ec.europa.eu/info/law/better-regulation/have-your-say/initiatives/12376-Commission-Communication-Renovation-wave-initiative-for-the-building-sectorBuilding energy renovation must go from ripple to wave if Europe is to reach climate neutrality and build back better in the wake of COVID-19.

This event is part of a major programme to shine a light on and scale-up the most impactful solutions to the renovation challenge that are making waves at the local level across Europe. The event will launch an exciting new report profiling some of the most impactful renovation initiatives happening across Europe - with speakers from leading efforts in the field. Our audience will spark debate around what initiatives Europe must scale to make the Renovation Wave a reality that changes the lives of all Europeans. Leading cities will explore what is needed to deliver a climate neutral building stock and how renovation can play a central role in economic recovery and rebuilding.
