This international conference aimed to measure and highlight the interaction between international humanitarian law, human rights law and the international law on refugees and internal displaced persons. It gave an opportunity to take stock of the progress made in the implementation of these instruments, to identify the outstanding issues and to reflect collectively on ways to give practical effects to these instruments crucial to the protection of human dignity. Presentations focused on some of the current challenges regarding the interplay between these different set of rules as well as the ongoing efforts towards greater compliance.
