Description
The Digital Education Action Plan (2021-2027) is the European Commission’s flagship strategy for high-quality, inclusive, and accessible digital education and training. 2024 marks the Action Plan’s mid-point of implementation. It is also the year in which the Commission has committed to undertake a comprehensive review of the Action Plan.The review has two objectives: 1) to look back and reflect on the achievements of the specific actions of the Action Plan; and 2) to look forward, reflecting on emerging challenges in digital education and how they could be addressed at European level.
The main objective of the event is to officially launch the Review and initiate the first stakeholder consultations. It will be attended by European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth, Iliana Ivanova.
The event will consist of two parts: a live streamed morning session and an onsite-only afternoon. The morning will include an official opening, a ‘looking back’ panel with testimonies and the awarding ceremony of the Digital Education Hackathon. The afternoon includes an expert panel focused on the future of digital education and the first stakeholder consultations.
