Description
In this extended abstract of the plenary presentation we first motivate the need for modelling time-variant dynamics and give a short overview of the relevant literature. Next, some system theoretical concepts of time-variant systems that are used throughout the whole presentation are introduced. It includes the definition of the time-variant impulse response, the time-variant frequency response function, the best linear time-invariant approximation, the class of (non)linear time-variant systems considered, and of the nonparametric models used for describing the time-variant dynamics. Further, the steady state response of a linear time-variant system to a periodic input is analysed. The extended abstract ends with an outline of the presentation and some conclusions.| Period | 19 Oct 2015 → 21 Oct 2015 |
