The circular economy is getting more and more attention, perhaps also in your practice. Yet many circular design choices are not applied, for financial reasons among others. On the other hand, the need for qualitative affordable housing is also growing. Can we find opportunities where circular building design helps to make housing more affordable?

In this workshop we investigated the challenges of qualitative affordable housing for the case of the Robin Oratoir project and its relation to circular building design. We will discuss the different dimensions of affordable housing in the context of the project and how we can (or cannot) link these challenges to circular design qualities.
