This campaign provided practical training in field sampling and analysis for the monitoring and research program OMES (Onderzoek Milieu Effecten Sigmaplan). OMES actualizes the biogeochemical knowledge of the Scheldt since 1995. The VUB measures monthly variable parameters (delta13C of POC and DIC, delta15N of PN and the alkalinity) of water samples collected at representative sampling stations (27).
