Description

The UMAU is the only association that brings together scholars of Agricultural Law from around the world. Today it has more than 200 members from 42 countries.
Founded in 1988 in Italy,at the Scuola Sant'Anna in Pisa, the UMAU was created with a common vision: to strengthen and spread throughout the world the study of the "beautiful subject”, as the Umau members like to call it. The deep friendship and the strong spirit of collaboration, always the cardinal points of the Union, have contributed to the definition of the current and highly valued peculiarities of the association.
UMAU is divided into five regional sections: Africa; Asia and Oceania; Europe; South America; and North and Central America and the Caribbean. The official languages ​​of UMAU are French, English, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish.
Today UMAU plays a central role in the study and development of Agricultural Law, with a view to increasing its diffusion and understanding, and to promote the forefront of research and topics of social relevance.
