CORE's research agenda is directed towards the exploration of the notion of law, of legal concepts and ideas, and the relation between society and law, from different and combined intra-disciplinary angles (historical, comparative, theoretical, …). The main approach is bottom-up and detailed analysis, with a view on context and operational aspects of law. Research themes concern the relation between the economy and law (D. De ruysscher), operational law (L. de Sutter), and diplomacy and law (F. Dhondt).
