The Centre of International Law, headed by Prof. dr. Erik Franckx, is the successor to the Centre for the Study of the Law of the United Nations and the Specialised Agencies, Centre for International Law and International Institutions and the Centre for Eastern European Law. The Centre for International Law specialises in research in general international law, law of the sea, human rights and humanitarian law, international economic law, diplomatic law and the laws of Central and Eastern European countries. Moreover, the centre takes a multidisciplinary approach by studying both the legal and political aspect of international organisations.
