De vakgroep JURI verstrekt onderwijs in de randgebieden van het positief recht en verrricht onderzoek in diverse wetenschappelijke domeinen zoals rechtsgeschiedenis, het Romeins recht, de rechtsfilosofie, Afrikaans recht... Bovendien worden verscheidene onderzoeksdomeinen aangeboord, die niet met het recht verbonden zijn zoals genderonderzoek, de taalkundige relaties in de Brusselse hoofdstedelijke regio, de overgang van secundair naar universitair onderwijs e.a.
