Chronic pain is a very complex phenomenon with a biopsychosocial background. It is important to gain insight into the mechanisms that contribute to chronicity or maintain this process. In this regard, it is important to study both the peripheral and central pain mechanisms.
The creation of this alliance research group will allow to link the research competencies and clinical expertise present in the participating partners. This collaboration should enable us to gain insight into the interaction between disorders in the sensorimotor control at the vertebral column and pain.
We are convinced that in this way we can build a strong joint research team that will undoubtedly lead to publications in highly-rated journals and will also increase the capability to acquire external funding.
