The department GESG mainly develops research activities in the following domains: 1. Economical aspects of HIV/AIDS; 2. Terminal (palliative) home care: pain management; 3. Needs in potentially lethal conditions and in the elderly, stressing informal care; 4. Gerontechnology; 5. Health indicators in Youth; 6. Chemical and physical factors of occupational load, especially biological monitoring; 7. Evaluation of primary health care training for non-medical health care workers in developing regions.
