Dorien Brosens (°19/04/1989) is Assistant professor/ Postdoctoral researcher in Adult Educational Sciences. Under supervision of Prof. dr. Liesbeth De Donder she obtained her PhD in Adult Educational Sciences in 2015 with a dissertation titled "Participation in prison programmes: Profile on (non-)participants, encouraging and discouraging factors". To date, she is co-director of the research group PArticipation and Learning in Detention (PALD). Her research mainly focuses on participation and involvement in prison life, active citizenship during imprisonment, peer programs, and incarcerated persons’ participation in diverse types of learning (formal, non-formal, informal).
