Dorien Brosens (°19/04/1989) is Assistant professor/ Postdoctoral researcher in Adult Educational Sciences. Under supervision of Prof. dr. Liesbeth De Donder she obtained her PhD in Adult Educational Sciences in 2015 with a dissertation titled "Participation in prison programmes: Profile on (non-)participants, encouraging and discouraging factors". To date, she is co-director of the research group PArticipation and Learning in Detention (PALD). Her research mainly focuses on participation and involvement in prison life, active citizenship during imprisonment, peer-to-peer support, and incarcerated persons’ participation in diverse types of learning (formal, non-formal, informal).
