Personal profile

Expertise

I’m a PhD candidate in Criminology at Vrije Universiteit Brussel and a junior research fellow at Hannah Arendt Institute. In the past, I’ve worked as a teaching assistant at the Université Libre de Bruxelles and Ghent University, and as a research assistant at the National Institute of Criminalistics and Criminology. I’m part of the editorial board of Tijdschrift over Cultuur en Criminaliteit and operate as editorial assistant for the open-access journal Criminological Encounters.

My research interests revolve around everyday security, feelings of insecurity, qualitative methods, and participatory research. As for a disciplinary grounding, I’m situated somewhere between spatial, urban, cultural and critical criminology. However, considering criminology as a rendez-vous discipline, I draw theoretical inspiration from a range of directions, including Critical Realism, social and human geography, and social theory.
