Expertise
Since 2019, I'm Head of the Department of Medical Genetics at Universitair Ziekenhuis Brussel and a Professor in Clinical Genetics at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. Before, I was working as a clinical geneticist at the Department of Clinical Genetics at the Leiden University Medical Center, the Netherlands. My main interests are hereditary cancers and improving the identification and management of persons with inherited tumor syndromes.
Between 2015 and 2019, I was chairman of the Dutch Clinical Genetics Society. In 2025, I became a member of the Koninklijke Hollandsche Maatschappij der Wetenschappen (https://khmw.nl; Royal Holland Society of Sciences and Humanities).
