Geert Vandermeersche (he/him; Belgian; born January 20th, 1984) is an assistant-professor (tenure track) affiliated with the Department of Educational Sciences at the Faculty of Pyschology and Educational Sciences of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (Belgium). He has a master degree in Languages and Literature (UGent, 2006) and holds a doctoral degree in Educational Sciences (UGent, 2013).

His research focuses on 2 main topics, namely (i) culture and arts education & participation, more specifically the impact of the arts and  and the expansion of educational practices through innovation in film, music and the performing arts, and (ii) the impact of digitalisation on youth culture.
