Personal profile

Expertise

In January 2025 Gerlinde Hollevoet joined the End-of-Life Care Research Group as a PhD researcher at VUB and UGhent. She works on one of the five research packages of the CONNECT-project, investigating how patterns of inequity and inequality manifest in social connection in the context of serious illness, dying and bereavement. Her background in Social and Cultural Anthropology (masters degree obtained at KU Leuven in 2016) and expertise in qualitative research methods allow her to look at the experiences of people in socially and structurally vulnerable positions from an intersectional perspective and bring epistemic injustice and health inequity/inequality to the fore.
