Hanna Elisabeth Schneider is an associated PhD Researcher in the Research Centre for Migration, Diversity and Justice at the Brussels School of Governance and affiliated to the Department of Political Science at VUB. Her PhD project focuses on refugee resettlement and explores the agency and vulnerabilities of refugees within the resettlement process from Jordan and Turkey to Germany.
Hanna holds a MSc in Public Policy and Human Development with a specialisation in Migration Studies from Maastricht Graduate School of Governance (Netherlands) and a BA in European Studies from Maastricht University (Netherlands).
In addition to her PhD research, Hanna works as a program manager for the German Red Cross. In this role, she is responsible for the implementation of the community sponsorship program in Germany. Previously, she was deployed as a resettlement expert to UNHCR offices in sub-Saharan Africa, where she contributed to refugee resettlement operations and supported various aspects of the resettlement process.
