Hanne Dewinter is a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Educational Sciences at Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB). She completed her PhD at Ghent University (UGent), where her research focused on the role of participatory arts practices in urban living. Following her PhD, she conducted research in three Ghent museums (Museum Dr. Guislain, Erfgoedhuis Zusters van Liefde, Huis van Alijn), investigating the connection between cultural heritage and wellbeing.
From October 2024 onwards, Hanne Dewinter is embarking on a FWO junior postdoc research project (1231825N). In this project, she draws on previous insights to theorise how the relationship between arts and their social impacts can be studied beyond the paradigm of participation.
