Personal profile

Expertise

PhD in Natural Sciences with expertise in isotope geochemistry of low to high temperature carbonate mineral formation, biogeochemical sulfur cycling and high precision U-Pb ID-TIMS dating of carbonates with postdoc experience at the ETH Zurich, the University of Utrecht and the University of Geneva .

My main focus at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel is to extract the paleoclimate signal from the ancient rock record by applying carbonate clumped isotope thermometry on biogenic carbonates and to study the effect of diagenetic overprint during the formation of the rocks.

An improved knowledge of ancient climate conditions with similar elevated atmospheric greenhouse gas concentrations or even more extreme values helps to better understand the future climate response and habitability of different regions on Earth.

Education/Academic qualification
