Expertise
J. Van Erps obtained his PhD in Photonics Engineering in 2008 at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. Since 2013, he is a professor teaching Optical Communication Systems; Photonics; Technology and Applications of Electronics and Photonics. His research expertise lies in: (1) Freeform optics manufacturing; (2) Laser-based micromachining and 3D nanoprinting; (3) Applied Photonics Innovation; (4) Experimental work on non-linear integrated photonics.
J. Van Erps is also core lab manager of B-PHOT within the Strategic Research Centre "Flanders Make" and he has a large track record of research projects in collaboration with industry.
