Juliana Betancur Arenas is a PhD researcher at the VUB Mobilise, with a background in urban studies and civil engineering. She is currently researching cargo bikes' potential for more sustainable urban mobility and logistics.
She has working experience designing and constructing active mobility infrastructure in Colombia and France, and serves as a volunteer in non-profit associations promoting cycling.
Research interests
Her research interests are mainly active urban mobility and extend to the relation between mobility and gender. She has worked during her master’s studies on women’s motivators and deterrents for urban cycling.
