Personal profile

Expertise

I am a palaeontologist. I have studied the macrofossils of a Silurian reef community to model ecological changes, and analyzed the aerodynamic performance of a group of lizards from the Late Triassic called Kuehneosauridae. However, since my PhD at the University of Bonn, I have mostly worked on the bone histology of extinct and extant tetrapods. My current focus lies on the bone and tooth histology of dinosaurs, and the potential of preservation of biomolecules in millions of years old bones.
