I am Assistant Professor at the Multidisciplinary Institute for Teacher Education (MILO) and the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy at Vrije Universiteit Brussel, where where I teach in the Educational Master of Health Sciences and the Master of Management and Policy of Healthcare.

Trained as a midwife (BSc, MSc), teacher educator in health sciences (MSc), and holding a PhD in Health Sciences, my interdisciplinary background spans clinical care, education, and health services research.

My research is situated within health services research and focuses on the implementation and evaluation of complex interventions in healthcare (including midwifery, nursing and neurorehabilitation) and educational settings. I have a particular interest in implementation fidelity, adaptations, contextual influences, and mechanisms of impact. Using qualitative and mixed-methods approaches, my work seeks to understand not only whether interventions work, but also how, for whom, and under which circumstances they create value. This work has been supported through several competitive grants, including funding from the Research Foundation Flanders (several FWO-TBM and FWO mandates), the Belgian National Institute for Health and Disability Insurance (RIZIV INTERACT/INTERACT-BIS), Erasmus+, and regional funding initiatives.

Alongside my methodological work, I study educational innovation in health professions education, including interprofessional education, simulation-based learning, and professional identity development. Through multidisciplinary and international collaborations, I aim to advance innovative and evidence-informed approaches to both healthcare delivery and health professions education.

Through my research, teaching, and collaborations with healthcare and educational stakeholders, I seek to bridge research, policy, and practice and contribute to meaningful and sustainable improvements in healthcare and education.
