Marco Giacalone is Research Professor at the Private and Economic Law Department (PREC) of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), where he serves as Co-Director of the Research Group on Digitalisation and Access to Justice (DIKE) and is also a member of the Large Research Group Brussels Research Institute on Development, Governance and Empowerment, through law (BRIDGE). He has contributed to several interdisciplinary research projects co-funded by the European Union, exploring the impact of digital technologies on access to justice, with particular attention to Private International Law, Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), and Online Dispute Resolution (ODR). His research examines the evolving relationship between technological innovation and legal processes, with a focus on how digitalisation is reshaping dispute resolution and justice systems.
