Personal profile

Research interests

After specializing in ionizing radiation within Biomedical Engineering, I reoriented my focus toward climate science to contribute to modeling our changing climate and exploring sustainable solutions. During my Master’s in Water Resources Engineering, I developed an interest in climate modeling, land-climate dynamics, and artificial intelligence. I am currently pursuing a PhD within the teams of BCLIMATE (VUB) and H-CEL (UGent) as part of the interuniversity Cong’eau project. My research couples a global Earth system model (CESM) with a Lagrangian moisture tracking model (FLEXPART) to investigate how land-use and climate change impact the water cycle of the second largest rain forest on our earth, residing in the Congo Basin.
