Maximilian Grönegräs is an FWO PhD fundamental research fellow at the Department of Communication Sciences (SCOM) of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), Belgium. He is a member of the research group ECHO and the research center DESIRE. Maximilian holds an M.Sc. in Communication Studies: Journalism and Media in Europe from the VUB (2021) and a B.A. in Arts and Culture from Maastricht University (UM) (2019). His research is focussed on journalistic genre elements in the political communication of populist radical right parties. Maximilian has repeatedly worked as a newspaper journalist in Germany between 2016 and 2021.
