Expertise
Ph.D. in interdisciplinary studies from the University of British Columbia, Canada, Master degree in Computer Science, Bachelor in Mathematics and Physics from the University of Chile.
Extensive academic experience in scientific research and leading interdisciplinary research teams at international level: published 50+ articles in scientific journals in diverse topics such as quantum theory, complex systems, cognitive science, epidemiology, pure mathematics, education, biology, cybernetics, among others. Awarded with several scientific grants adding more than 2M eur. Regularly editor of scientific journals and books, as well as organizer and speaker at international scientific events.
Outside the academic domain, worked as AI consultant and advisor for companies and state-level institutions. Additionally, co-founder and director of a renewable energies company whose focus was supporting the development of solar power, specially of indigenous communities, in the Atacama desert (Chile), co-founder and CTO of healtech startup, and founder and director of an NGO dedicated to foster interdisciplinary collaboration for sustainable development in Chile.
