Valérie Thomas is an assistant professor at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel and a guest professor at Ghent University. Prof. Dr. Valérie Thomas is a core member of the Brussels research centre for Innovation in Learning and Diversity (BILD) and is affiliated with the Department of Educational Sciences.
Dr. Thomas is an expert in innovative learning environments, especially related to the use of technology (such as digital tools, learning analytics, and learning management systems) and students' self-regulatory learning skills. Second, she studies the role of parents in education, especially how parents can help their children develop self-regulation skills. She is experienced in presenting her research at international conferences.
Prof. dr. Thomas teaches courses on educational design, curriculum development, and diversity and inclusion in education. She is also involved in various research projects and has published several papers in her field.
