A novel multimodal predictor of cognitive decline in mild cognitive impairment

Project Details

Description

This project fits within a larger VUB-ULB initiative on detecting the earliest stages of Alzheimer’s disease. Through an Innoviris project – awarded to prof Sebastiaan Engelborghs and prof Jeroen Van Schependom – a data collection was set up to collect magnetoencephalographic (MEG) data in people with mild cognitive impairment (MCI). The specific aims of the so-called DetectDem study are to (1) compare the efficiency of two types of MEG scanners in detecting silent epileptiform activity and (2) develop a data-vault system to enable long-term communication with people with MCI.
