During this PhD, research will be conducted for possible architectures that allow interfacing to novel three dimensional camera chips.
The first part of this research focuses on designing new kinds of modulating waves, which will be used to modulate the light emitted by the camera. The properties of these waves directly influence the capabilities and performance of the camera. The second part consists of processing the raw data produced by the camera chip into data useful to the user. Compensating the non-idealities of the camera chip will be a high priority during this part.
Each of the parts mentioned above have to function autonomously, before interaction between both parts can be used to improve their performance. The third major part of the PhD consists in this research for optimization.
