    Project Details

    Description

Often there is hardly any communication concerning sexuality between parents en children, and even if there is, youngsters are disappointed that parents tend to emphasise on the danger and risk of sexual activities, neglecting at the same time the emotional aspects. The aim of this project is to study the way in which parents give their children information with regard to sexuality are transmitted consciously and unconsciously through verbal and non-verbal communication. According to the trnsactional person-process model of Belsky (1984) and Gerris (1985) factors as the quality of the parent-child relationship and the quality of the relationship between parents seems to influence the transmission of attitudes, values and standards between generations. By consequence, these factors should be taken into account when studying the transition-process of attitudes, values and standards concerning between parents and children
