Project Details

Description

We aim to create a positive change for the TGNC community in Brussels Capital Region (BCR). This project includes 3 multi-method studies where we aim to established three main research objectives (RO) for the current study:
• RO1: Investigating demographics, well-being, psychological symptoms (depression, anxiety, suicidality, non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI) and minority stress and resilience in TGNC young adults (aged 18 to 25) in BCR by means of a large-scale survey study including demographics and validated questionnaires.
• RO2: Identifying the general and mental healthcare barriers, obstacles, facilitators and needs of TGNC young adults in BCR by means of a qualitative focus-group approach and thematic analysis.
• RO3: 1. Co-creating the evidence- and experience-based, preventive, low threshold resilience building intervention “POWER” with a workgroup consisting of clinicians, TGNC young adults and researchers. 2. Testing the feasibility of the POWER intervention for mental health outcomes, i.e., well-being, depression, anxiety, suicidality, NSSI, as well as minority stress and resilience in a diverse sample of TGNC young adults.
