Description
This study will examine to what extent the perception of children on ethnic minorities is influenced by TV-reports on that issue and how this image-building can be adjusted by means of a critical analytical media approach(media education). The hypotheses will be made: firstly: Children depending only on media reports for information on ethnic minorities will have a perception of this minorities that parallels the perception as it is reflected in these reports. This perception will differ significantly from the perception of those children which use mainly other sources for image-building of ethnic minorities. Secondly: As racism is not innate, but learnt, it can be unlearnt under specific conditions. On the basis of the obtained research results, a set of parameters, as exhaustive as possible , will be transformed into a model that can adjust the subjective social perception of reality of the target group.
