Project Details

The amount of digital images in databases of hospitals increases daily. This results in a massive pool of information that physicians can consult, for example to aid the diagnosis. This information is only useful if an efficient way exist to access it, but the large increase complicates its management and access. Current "Picture Archive and Communication Systems (PACS) provide clinicians the possibility to store, send and search the images in an efficient way. In the latter context, several "Content-Based Image Retrieval (CBIR) techniques have been proposed. The aim of the research project is therefore to content-based search techniques in multi-modal data to study, implement and evaluate.
