Basic research on intelligent tools for monitoring of corrosion and materials degradation

    Project Details

    Description

The purpose of the project is to check the possibilities of intelligent
tools for corrosion monitoring. These tools are expert systems linked with
electrochemical methods. This study is focussed on electrochemical
impedance spectrometry (EIS) and neural networks. The feasibility of the
'electronic noise' and acoustic emission will be investigated. The final
goal is the development of reliable and usable probes. This project
concerns systems with a direct industrial application as stress corrosion
cracking, corrosion of concrete and corrosion of coated metals.
