Conceptbuilding and impact measuring of a training framework for the elderly (50-plus)

Project Details

Given their wide range of competences, the elderly (50-plus) constitute an
important group, both from a quantitative (1 out of 3 is 60-plus) and from
a qualitative point of view. In order to exploit these qualifications for
the benefit of our sciety, it would seem appropriate to optimize the
participation of this target group. This implies changes in social and
community work, in which training- and learningprocesses play a key role.
Yet we can declare that knowledge and research on the subject is scarce and
that a professional approach on the matter is missing. Within the framework
of this survey, we would therefore wish to analyse the structure and the
set up of the training path, as regards both the socio-cultural education
and the professional organisations. Next, we will develop a theoretical
framework for action. In the final phase, this framework wil be live
tested, i.e. it will be tested with the socio-cultural groupings and the
professional organisations working with the elderly (50-plus).
