-Death in utopia: a study of the vision of the soul and the afterlife in literary utopia's of the XVIIth century.

- The point of departure of the project is the paradox characteristic of utopian thinking: utopia's present a society which is immutable and a-historic, where the dead does not exist; but at the same time the inhabitants of utopia's have to die. The research is concerned by the way utopia's of the seventeenth ventury give an answer to this paradox by developing determined conceptions about the dead af the afterlife. This way a new classification of utopia's is possible and important moral, political and literary implications of utopian thinking can be showed.
