Elderly prisoners: doubly punished?

Project Details

Description

The prison population as a whole is growing, and so is the number of elderly prisoners. Whilst they remain a small group in Belgian prisons, there are good reasons to believe that the number of elderly prisoners in Belgium will continue to increase in the future.
Until now,the group of elderly prisoners has received little attention in Belgian research. This raises specific challenges for the prison life of elderly prisoners.
