Epidemiologic study of the role and the interaction between immunologic, infectious and inflammatory biomarkers in coronary heart disease (CHD).

Project Details

Description

the study has two main components: 1. Cross-sectional Part: a) a case-control study : comparing prevalent cases of CHD with asymptomatic controls. b) an analytical study : in normal subjects of associations and interactions between a variety of variables that have been implicated in the etiology and fysiopathology of CHD including jobstress, cytokines, inflammatory parameters, biomarkers of chronic infections and the haptoglobin polymorphism. 2. Longitudinal Part: "case controlstudies nested in a cohort" will be carried out comparing incident cases of CHD with controls from the prospective part of the BELSTRESS project. This comparison will involve the classical risk factors for CHD but furthermore the set of variables that is also studied in a) and b) .
