Ethical aspects of assisted procreation.

The development of new reproductive technology generates a lot of ethical problems. Applications on post-menopausal and single women are highly controversial. Research will be done to find out whether and how applications can be justified. In order to be able to do this the foundations of the reasons and motives will be made more explicit and will be critically analysed.An attempt will be made to construct a more empirical and context oriented ethical theory that will be able to provide practical guidance for clinical practice. Such a theory should start from and take into account the actual moral problems and solutions that present themselves to the medical staff. Accounting for these aspects requires a conception of morality in which morality is an integral part of the social and cultural context.
