Evaluation of the discrimination practices on the housing market in Brussels Capital Region

Project Details

Description

This project examines by means of correspondence tests the prevalence of discrimination on the private rental housing market in Brussels Capital Region. The following discrimination grounds will be investigated: ethnic origin, source of income, family composition, gender and disability. From a methodological point of view, the tests will be comparable with the baseline measurement of 2017 and will be able to evaluate the educational and prevention policy measures of 2018 and 2019. In addition, this project will provide the methodological guidelines for the correspondence tests, mystery calling and situation tests in order to enable the regional government departments to perform the discrimination tests by themselves in the future.
